Open Zoom links from Slack in the Zoom app
A Zoom link shared in Slack opens in the browser, and you have to click through to get to the app. Alpaca is a free Slack bot that notices Zoom links in your channels and direct messages and replies with a link that opens the meetings straight in the Zoom desktop app, bypassing the browser.
How it works
Someone posts a Zoom link in Slack:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81234567890?pwd=aBcD1234Alpaca replies with:zoommtg://zoom.us/join?action=join&confno=81234567890&pwd=aBcD1234Click the reply (if your workspace allows it) or copy it to the clipboard and paste it into the address bar: the Zoom desktop app opens directly. The Zoom app must be installed on your computer.
Get started
- Add Alpaca to your Slack workspace. It is free, with no account or paid plan.
- Invite it to a channel with
/invite @Alpaca, or write to Alpaca in a direct message. - Share any Zoom link and Alpaca replies with the desktop-app link.
