Open VK links from Slack in the VK app
A VK link shared in Slack opens in the browser, and you have to click through to get to the app. Alpaca is a free Slack bot that notices VK links in your channels and direct messages and replies with a link that opens the communities and profiles straight in the VK desktop app, bypassing the browser.
How it works
Someone posts a VK link in Slack:
https://vk.com/yahhtAlpaca replies with:vk://vk.com/yahhtClick the reply (if your workspace allows it) or copy it to the clipboard and paste it into the address bar: the VK desktop app opens directly. The VK app must be installed on your computer.
Get started
- Add Alpaca to your Slack workspace. It is free, with no account or paid plan.
- Invite it to a channel with
/invite @Alpaca, or write to Alpaca in a direct message. - Share any VK link and Alpaca replies with the desktop-app link.
More details are in the guide on how to use Alpaca.
