Open Spotify links from Slack in the Spotify app
A Spotify link shared in Slack opens in the browser, and you have to click through to get to the app. Alpaca is a free Slack bot that notices Spotify links in your channels and direct messages and replies with a link that opens the tracks, albums and playlists straight in the Spotify desktop app, bypassing the browser.
How it works
Someone posts a Spotify link in Slack:
https://open.spotify.com/track/2KH16WveTQWT6KOG9Rg6e2?si=YoBWM0GdTRWUuj0Ao9rwMwAlpaca replies with:spotify://track/2KH16WveTQWT6KOG9Rg6e2Click the reply (if your workspace allows it) or copy it to the clipboard and paste it into the address bar: the Spotify desktop app opens directly. The Spotify app must be installed on your computer.
